SinoVision will host a media reception for the launch of Shanghai’s Television Series Month and the premiere of a brand new martial arts series, A Fistful of Kung Fu. The event has already received great support from the Shanghai Municipal Commission and Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in New York. Some notable guests for the reception will include: Mr. Xu Lin (Head of the Shanghai Municipal Press and Publication Bureau), Ms. Wang Jianjun (Head Secretary and Chairwoman of the SMG Committee of CPC), Mr. Qiu Xin (Head Secretary and President of the Shanghai United Media Group), and Mr. Ren Zhong (President of the Shanghai Film Group Corporation).

During Shanghai’s Television Series Month, two popular drama series, Four Seasons in My Family and When the Mother-in-Law Arrives, will be broadcasted on both SinoVision’s Chinese and English channels. Four Seasons in My Family tells the story of a father who falls in love with the housemaid. When the Mother-in-Law Arrives is a discourse on the ‘new era of marriage’ and the significance of one’s house, car and money. In addition to the drama series, A Fistful of Kung Fu will have its premiere here at SinoVision; the program is a new martial arts educational program. International Channel Shanghai (an affiliate of Shanghai Media Group) will also have a premiere here at SinoVision. The ancient Taijiquan is getting a modern day makeover with a daily 15 minute show that will introduce the foundations of Taijiquan, and how its traditional health benefits can help change modern people’s outlook on life.

In recent years, Shanghai’s Television Series month has been extremely well-received nationwide. This year’s Shanghai Television Series Month is an ideal opportunity for SMG and SinoVision to collaborate again after becoming partners in 2012. Through this event, the two companies aim to develop better communication and increase the influences of Chinese culture in the United States.
